Dr. Stella Daskalopoulou, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Stella S. Daskalopoulou is the Director of the Vascular Health Unit at the MUHC (including a Wet-bench Lab and an Imaging Lab), and the Principle Investigator of PLAKK. Over the past 20 years she has been working in unravelling novel pathways underlying atherosclerotic plaque instability as well as incorporating imaging modalities to improve the characterization of plaques non-invasively. In this context, over the past eleven years she has been developing a large prospective human specimen biobank that consists of blood samples, plaque specimens, and clinical information obtained from patients with atherosclerosis. To date, hundreds of human plaque specimens have been collected that have been used in the creation of our AI platform.
Dr. Robert Brown is our technical and AI advisor, with 18 years of experience in medical imaging and 10 years of experience in AI.
